Every symmetry gets more interesting when it is interrupted. Here an inserted cupboard-block, offset sideways, breaks up the otherwise strictly symmetric room layout.

It opens the free standing isle block towards the living room and serves at the same time as a bar. When planning, it is to be noted that the overhang must not be more than 60 cm, otherwise a support is needed.

The inserted block projects from the worktop and effects a visual division between working- and living-area.
